Circle Circus, Razzle Dazzle, Forest Friends, Animal Stories

Forest Friends, God's Beauty(retired), Simple Friendship, Baroque Motifs

(sorry for the poor photography)

God's Beauty(retired), Simple Friendship, Oval All

I've had a great time lately making these great post it note holders. They are very simple and I found the idea on a youtube video by Dawn Griffith, it can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAsOkubiK0I

They were fun to do and give to friends. I loved playing with the new in-colors and new stamp set from the new catalogue. I must do some that are holiday related next

I hope you all had a great weekend.

Thanks for stopping by,

Stationary Box and Retired Birds

Stationary Box Closed

Opened

Three of the six cards

Three more cards and the four tags

3x3 note cards

I decided I would make this stationary box that I have seen on Splitcoast Stampers site. the tutorial can be found here: http://jackietopa.typepad.com/Stationary.pdf
It was time consuming but very gratifying. I love this blue and white paper but it is retired.
The stamp sets I used were Cheep Talk, TeenyTiny Wishes and Sincere Salutations. Pacific Point Textured cardstock and Ink(retired), Good Morning Sunshine DSP(retired), Whisper White cardstock and ribbon and miscellaneous punches. It holds six standard sized cards and envelopes, six 3x3 note cards and envelopes, 4 gift tags, an address book and pen, and there is a place to store stamps. Everyting you need!
Now I must take what I learned from this one and apply it to another.
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Butterflies....

I love butterflies, dragonflies etc. and can't resist them at all.I cased this card from a blog but I'm sorry to say I can't remember who's, I saved the picture and recreated it. The stamp set is Flight of the Butterfly, the colors are Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede, two of the new In-colors all from Stampin'Up.
It's a very simple but elegant card. (please if you know the original designer of this card, let me know and I will be sure to give proper credit)

It is finally Friday, seems like it's been a long week!

Hope you have a great weekend! Sharri

Cricut fun

I spent some time last night playing with my Cricut Design Studio. I wanted to weld two images together....the "m" and piglet to make the one image. I played for a long time until I figured it out, then I had to figure out the paper placement on the mats so I could cut the pieces out on the same mat. This is the result......not perfect but he's really cute. A friend wants to put this on a stool for his 1 yr old grand daughter; her name is Mackenzie.

Thanks for looking,

Happy Hump Day!

It's only Wednesday? Seems like a long week so far.

This is a set of cards in a box I did for my mother in law for her birthday. I used the sketches from a one sheet wonder idea. I made 12 cards and a ox to keep them in; they were stamped as an "all occasion" set of cards. The box is from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j61q823ghb8&feature=channel_page by Dannie Graves. It was easy to do following this video. I used Whisper White card stock and DCWV paper for these along with misc punches, ribbons and stamps etc.

Thanks for looking, have a great day.

Anniversary Card

I went to a 50th anniversary open house a few weeks back and this is the card I made for the happy couple; they are my mother's uncle and his wife. The card is a half fold size; 8.5 x 11 card stock folded in half. I used my cuttlebug folders, embossing different patterns on the top and the bottom( swiss dots and d'vine swirl) I had some shiny gold paper that I had picked up at the dollar store which I used for the letters and for the strip between 2 embossed lines and under the whisper white organza ribbon from Stampin'up. The medallion is the daises #2 Bigshot die; I cut a layer of each size in whisper white and the gold paper; layered and glued them together and then covered the center hole with a 3/4 inch gold circle which was popped up with a couple of dimensionals. The gold letters and numbers are Olivia, a cuttlebug alphabet die set

It's a little cooler here today compared to the high humidity we had last week. Much nicer from my point of view!

Have a great day!

Dad's birthday

Tomorrow my Dad turns 70 ......this is the card I made for him.
I used Lovely as a Tree Stamped in Green Galore on whisper white, it was then layered onto a piece of DCWV DSP and then added 3 miscellaneous brads to balance out the greeting that came from the Upsy Daisy stamp set from Stampin'Up. Corners were punched with the ticket punch to finish it off.

We dodged hurricane Bill today.....managed to get away with only some moderate winds and rain, no major damage as was possible if he had changed his path.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!
Thanks, for visiting.

Here Goes!!

Well I've been debating for months now about starting a blog and I guess I finally bit the bullet and am taking the plunge.

My name is Sharri Coates, I live in New Brunswick, eastern Canada, near the city of Moncton. I am a registered nurse working with seniors in assisted living.
I share my life with my best friend, Lonnie, my husband of 30 years come October of this year; and together we have 2 grown sons, Sean and Jeremy.

I have had a love affair with papercrafts since I discovered Parchment Paper Crafting about 10 years ago or more. I love the versatility of paper and all you can do with it. My second love is embroidery so when ever I can integrate the two it's even better.

I signed up with Stampin' Up in Feb 2009 as a hobby demo. I'm my best customer at the present time but I'd love to eventually share my passion with others and maybe change that status.

I will try to post as often as I can but sometimes life gets in the road so please have some patience with me.....

Thanks for visiting my blog, please feel free to comment or share when ever you have the notion to do so.
